Alure Hair Academy is a Redken Premier cosmetology school, owned and operated by master cosmetologists and Salon Alure owners with over 20 years experience in the beauty industry.  Students learn the art, science, and business of hair, esthetics, nails, makeup, and more.  They also prepare to take the state board exams to become fully licensed cosmetologists.

We maintain a positive school environment where our team members love what they do and our students love their education experience.  We are currently seeking a full-time cosmetology instructor.

Position Responsibilities:

• Teach cosmetology theory and practical lessons from Alure Hair Academy’s PivotPoint / Milady curriculum.
• Teach foundational knowledge for cosmetology technical skills (basic coloring, cutting, styling, and texture services) as well as communication skills (client consultation, upselling, etc.).
• Recruit new students to the cosmetology program by acting as an academy representative at nearby high schools and other establishments, as needed.  Meet with prospect students as needed.
• Ensure lessons stay on track for timely graduations.
• Ensure retention of students recruited as well as regular progress evaluations of each student.
• Perform administrative duties necessary for school state board compliance.

Qualifications/Skill Required:

• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Positive/friendly attitude with excellent communication/speaking and teaching skills
• Ability to adapt lessons to meet the learning needs of students with diverse learning styles
• Strong ability to multi-task and work independently as well as part of a team
• Excellent organizational skills
• Leadership skills and a self-starter

Education/Experience Required:

• Active Virginia Cosmetology license
• Active Virginia Cosmetology Instructor license highly desired but not required
• Cosmetology teaching experience highly desired but not required
• Minimum of 5 years working behind the chair as a stylist
• Knowledge of Redken color not required but is a plus
